i have had my sewing machine for over a year and finally made my first handbag. it was pretty easy. the pattern is an Amy Butler design and i hope to start purchasing some of her patterns. i bought a few sewing books and will start diving into new projects.
i hope to paint twice a week so i can figure out what my painting style is.

Haven’t had much time to sit and illustrate so I thought I would start posting some of my sketchbook mashups.
with spring around the corner i wanted to create a few new things around the house.
Here is a chihuahua pillow I made for my friend Amber! It has a zipper so the cover can be washed.
Here is another stuffed character. This fabric was pretty thick and difficult to feed it through the machine.
i was hoping to render this illustration or do a painting but got bored with it. i am more happy with it being just a concept and moving on to other things.
last week it was pretty clear here in Seattle and the moon looked beautiful! it was full but i decided the composition worked best if it wasn’t. inspiration from amber’s purple and pink trees and hoping the weather will warm up a bit!
so it has been a busy couple of months. back in September i accepted a job with Microsoft as a Designer/Artist working on creative prototyping for Xbox! i know, not a good enough excuse for ignoring the blog but i made a New Year’s resolution to post a couple a week. i am good for my resolutions:)
